NiggaJosh Electrical Supplies and Services (NiggaJosh) is a tech company established by Engr. Joshua P. Fernandez, MPA, CSS (Joshua) primarily to meet the need of Electric Cooperatives (ECs) in the Philippines for affordable high-quality technical consultancy services to improve general performance and regulatory compliance.
Joshua was born and raised in Camarines Norte. He obtained his BSEE from UP Diliman in 2006 (followed shortly by his PRC license) and his MPA from PUP OU in 2012. Joshua worked as an electrical engineer in various capacities, having served four years in the Department of Energy (DOE) and another four in the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC).
In DOE, Joshua gained experience in evaluating and inspecting electrification projects. He also spearheaded the creation of the "2012-2016 Missionary Electrification Development Plan" and the "Technical Guidelines for Allowable Fuel Rates and Plant Use and Losses for NPC-SPUG Power Plants".
In ERC, Joshua built databases of power plants and Power Supply Agreements (PSAs), among others. He also created programs that process system snapshot (SYSSNAP) data to aid in the monitoring and investigation of power plants. Joshua also created technical papers such as "Mandatory Heat Rate Tests for Coal Plants and the Computation of Corresponding Fuel Consumption Caps" and "Addressing the Impact of the Variable Generation of Solar Plants to the Visayas Grid". Most importantly, Joshua detected and took action against violations of the Philippine Grid Code.
Joshua established NiggaJosh in 2018. Since then, NiggaJosh executed various CSP, DIS, and other consulting projects, including overhauling DOE's DDP and PSPP templates. NiggaJosh has helped quite a handful of ECs in its first seven years, and is in position to help many more.
Joshua’s favorite software are SKM PTW, MS Excel, MS Access, and QGIS. He also likes dogs, cats, and motorcycles. Joshua gains work inspiration from motorcycle grand prix racing, where analysis of complex telemetry data is essential to winning.
